Born in County Caithness, Scotland - the exact date is unknown - Innes apparently hailed from the village of Canisby, or Cannesby.
According to local history librarian Beverly Tetterton, no recorded efforts have been made to identify, study or excavate the site.Īs the questioner noted, Point Pleasant was the home of James Innes (1700-1759), a prominent colonial soldier, planter and public official.
